Shop Hand/Labourer
Bonnyville Welding is looking to fill a shop hand/senior labourer position at our structural shop in Bonnyville. Temporary position running from mid-April to September, with the potential to turn into permanent position.
Tasks Include:
- Receive and offload structural steel
- Operate shop equipment including but not limited overhead crane, bandsaw, shear, drill press, and hand tools (grinders, drills, etc.)
- Select materials and cut materials to length from provided cut list
- Operate forklift and skid steer
- Shop housekeeping
- Assist with assembly fit up
Qualifications:
- Previous experience in a steel fabrication setting
- Knowledge of structural steel material and profiles
- Ability to read a measure tape
- Experience operating listed shop equipment
Hours:
Monday – Friday 7:00am to 3:30 pm

APPRENTICE PIPEFITTER
We are currently seeking a motivated Apprentice Pipefitter to join our team. This position offers excellent hands-on experience and long-term growth opportunities within the trade.

Apprentice Pipefitter Duties:
- Support journeymen in the installation of piping systems
- Read and interpret blueprints, drawings, and isometric plans
- Measure, cut, and prepare piping materials
- Assist with system layout, assembly, and installation
- Install pipe supports, valves, and related components
- Maintain tools and ensure work areas remain organized
- Follow all site safety standards and procedures
- Perform pressure testing and check systems for leaks
Requirements:
- Registered in or eligible for a pipefitting apprenticeship program
- Basic understanding of piping systems and related tools
- Strong work ethic with a willingness to learn
- Dependable transportation
- Physically capable of lifting 50+ lbs and working in various job site conditions
- Valid H2S Alive, CSO, and CSTS certification
- First Aid required
JOURNEYMAN PIPEFITTER
Now Hiring: Journeyman / Experienced Pipefitter
We are seeking a skilled Journeyman or Experienced Pipefitter to join our team for upcoming projects. This role is suited for individuals who take pride in quality workmanship and can work confidently in both shop and field environments.

- Minimum 3+ years of related pipefitting experience
- Strong knowledge of various piping materials and systems
- Proficient in piping layout and system installation
- Ability to work independently with minimal supervision
- Experience with hydrotest setup and completion
- Capable of both shop fabrication and field installation
Role Requirements:
- Journeyman Pipefitter/Steamfitter certification (Red Seal preferred)
- Valid H2S Alive, CSO, and CSTS certification
- First Aid required
- Confined Space and Fall Arrest (AWP) considered assets

ENTRY LEVEL LABOURER
BWL is currently hiring a dependable and hardworking Entry-Level Labourer. This hands-on role is ideal for someone who is physically capable, motivated, and interested in gaining experience in the mechanical trade.

Qualifications & Requirements:
- No prior experience necessary — training will be provided
- Physically fit and capable of lifting up to 50 lbs
- Reliable, punctual, and eager to learn
- Comfortable working in construction or industrial settings
- Mechanical aptitude considered an asset
- Valid Class 5 driver’s license (No GDL) with a clean 5-year driver’s abstract
- Required safety certifications: CSO, H2S Alive, CSTS
- Additional certifications such as Confined Space and Fall Protection are considered assets
LEADHAND
We are currently seeking an experienced Lead Hand for upcoming work in the Primrose area.
The successful candidate will be responsible for leading a small crew while assisting with day-to-day field operations.

- Multi-task in a fast-paced field environment
- Adaptable and receptive to changing work environments
Requirements:
- Previous oil & gas experience in piping installation and hydro testing
- Proven leadership or Lead Hand experience
- Ability to read measurements and work with piping layouts
- Strong work ethic and ability to manage multiple tasks
- Valid driver’s license and reliable transportation
- Safety tickets considered an asset (H2S Alive, First Aid, CSTS, CSO)
- Must pass a pre-employment drug and alcohol test
