Bonnyville Welding Ltd. celebrates 35 years in the business as of 2009.

1974 marked the start when Mike and his brother Paul purchased what used to be Phil's welding. Two years later Mike and Harvey Lafond bought out Paul's share of the company, and it wasn't long after until Mike became sole owner of the company.

Bonnyville Welding Ltd., which was originally located in downtown Bonnyville, focused mainly on custom work and farm machinery repairs. January 8, 1981 the company expanded to its present location just north of Bonnyville to focus mainly on maintenance and construction in the industrial and oilfield sectors. By maintaining diversity the company has been able to survive and succeed during the ups and downs of the oil and gas sector.
